The story of Hindustan Latex Limited (HLL), is a four-decade journey of evolution that has seen it progress from being just a manufacturer of condoms to a multi-product, diversified organisation, with a worldwide presence. One that is touching the lives of millions across the world, in myriad ways. It began its operations on March 1, 1966, in verdant, rubber-rich Kerala, to produce condoms for the National Family Planning Programme. Today it’s activities range from manufacture and export of contraceptives (to 70 countries), healthcare products, women’s health care products to implementing socially relevant initiatives like AIDS awareness programmes and building hospitals for the poor (LifeSpring Hospital, Merrygold Health Service Network).

Armed with its vast array of innovative healthcare products and social welfare programmes, HLL is making rapid forays into the world stage. Through technical collaborations, marketing alliances and joint ventures. With nearly 1900 highly skilled, qualified manpower, and several world leaders as partners, HLL is all set to realise its vision of making the world a healthier, happier place.

It is this journey of transformation and widening of its operational areas that has made the company change its name to HLL Lifecare Limited. To communicate its commitment to serve people all over the globe in the area of health care - and in the much wider spectrum of Life Care.
