Lifecare Centre at Odisha inaugurated

Dr. Damodar Rout, Honourable Minister for Health & Family, Govt. of Odisha inaugurated  the Lifecare Centre at SCB Medical College, Cuttack on 27th December 2012. Shri. P.K.Mohapatra, IAS, Commissioner Cum Secretary- Health & Family Welfare, Dr. Sonamali Bag, Director Medical Education & Training, Dr.P.K.Mahapatra, Principal & Dean, S.C.B.Medical College, Dr. Samantaray, Superindentent , S.C.B.Medical College Hospital, Ms. Sanjita Das, Administrative Officer  were present . Dr.M.Ayyappan, Chairman & Managing Director, Shri. R.P.Khandelwal, Director ( Finance) , Shri. Girish Kumar S, Sr. Vice President from HLL Lifecare Limited was also present.
 
Lifecare Centre situated at Multi Utility building in SCB Medical College campus is a multi facility centre offering Pharmacy, Cafeteria for Staff and public and Utility services like Bakery, Internet Café, Travel Agency, DTP etc. Lifecare Centre is a public- public partnership initiative between HLL Lifecare Limited, a Govt. of India enterprise under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare and Department of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of Odisha.
 
The Lifecare Centre Pharmacy will provide quality drugs, surgical implants, surgical equipments & Consumables, Lifesaving drugs, Opticals etc at discounts of 10 – 60 % to the patients. The centre will also supply surgical implants required by departments of Orthopaedics, Cardiology, Cardiac Surgery, Neuro Surgery etc at economical and stabilised prices. This pharmacy services will provide relief to the needy patients of SCB Medical College hospital. The centre will also serve patients under RSBY and OSTF ( Odisha State Treatment fund) schemes.
 
In addition to the pharmacy, the Lifecare Centre will offer cost effective and good quality food to students, staff, and users of the hospital through its Cafeteria for Public and Staff. The Centre will also offer utility services like bakery, Internet café, Travel agency etc for the convenience of the Students, Staff and users of SCB Medical College hospital.
 
Currently good quality MRI Scan services are not available at Burla and Berhampur. The patients now have to travel long distances to avail MRI services.
 
HLL Lifecare and Department of Health & Family Welfare have signed an MOU for starting Lifecare Centres at SCB Medical College- Cuttack, VSS Medical College- Burla and MKCG Medical College- Berhampur and Hindlabs MRI Scan Centres at VSS Medical College- Burla and MKCG Medical College- Berhampur.
 
Hindlabs MRI Scan Centres will provide economical and high quality MRI Scan services with 1.5 Tesla MRI Scan machines. The services will be available at 30% -40 % less cost than private rates.
 
HLL is also setting up a chain of 19 Hindlabs Diagnostic centres across the State of Odisha in partnership with the Govt. of Odisha. The Department of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of Odisha plans to provide access to quality diagnostic tests at affordable prices to the
