HLL’s maiden ‘Lifecare Centre’ in Malabar inaugurated

Kozhikode: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Shri. Mullapally Ramachandran inaugurated the State's fourth 'Lifecare Centre' at Vadakara District Hospital on March 2. The 'Lifecare Centre' is the maiden venture of HLL Lifecare Ltd in Malabar region.

The ‘Lifecare Centre’, a joint venture of HLL Lifecare Limited and Government of Kerala, aims to provide high quality surgical equipment, surgical implants, glasses, lenses, frames and related medicines at reasonable prices.
 
The centres would provide the surgical implants and other medical products at discount rates ranging from 10 to 60 percent.  In addition to subsidised services for the needy, the centre will also provide cashless services to RSBY card holders.
 
HLL has opened similar centres in Government Medical College, Thiruvanthapuram, Regional Institute of Ophthalmology, Thiruvananthapuram, General Hospital, Pathanamthitta and Acharya Harihar Regional Cancer Centre (AHRCC), Odisha.  The Lifecare Centre at the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College that started functioning in October 2011 was the first in this chain.
 
By opening Lifecare centres, HLL intend to ensure standardisation and transparency in marketing healthcare products and deliver them to common man at reasonable prices.
 
Government of Kerala has given approval to open four more Lifecare Centres in Government Medical Colleges, District and Taluk Government hospitals in Kerala.
